DEAD ENDS LIVE: September 13-14, 2024

A short thank-you note from your friends at Dead Ends Live.

We sure appreciated the full house at the Yardbird Suite on April 12 &13 for Secondhand Dreamcar and special guests, Kirby Sewell and Marcus Trummer.

The hot playing of all involved coupled with your enthusiastic response made for two memorable nights.

Kirby Sewell mentioned both nights that he was “flabbergasted” with what was happening on stage and the menu of original material, cool covers from sources like the Grateful Dead, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Little Feat, B.B. King, and John Hiatt. flowed seamlessly.

Thanks to the Yardbird staff and crew who are so easy to work with. We are so blessed to have this venue in our cultural community; there is nothing like the Suite, the perfect venue for both audiences and artists.

Festival Update

The  Dead Ends Live Festival keeps rolling the weekend of September 13 & 14 at the Chateau Lacombe Hotel. The headliners include the great John Kadlecik and his full band Furthurmore and The Allmost Brothers, Vancouver’s legendary Allman Brothers tribute band. The opening acts are hometown faves The McGowan Family Band and The Almighty Turtlenecks.

This year all stages are at the Chateau Lacombe Hotel with no shows overlapping. We are excited to offer a stellar lineup in the Bellamy Lounge hosted by Lionel Rault from CKUA’s Lionel’s Vinyls.

Weekend Festival Passes will be available on Eventbrite, May 31, 2024

“Listening to the musical chemistry created between local musicians and those in the extended Dead family using Grateful Dead music as a vessel was a magical experience. There were so many moments of unique musical brilliance. For me, playing at the festival was an opportunity to participate in the evolution of the Dead’s music and expansion of the ethos. I was very grateful to contribute to this wonderful community that is really important to me.”
